Dr. Ryan Parsons, MD
Dr. Ryan Parsons grew up on an acreage in rural Iowa, but summer family vacations were usually spent hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. He also spent much of his youth and young adulthood being very physically active, primarily with wrestling and weight training, and then later playing rugby. After he completed his undergraduate work at the University of Northern Iowa in 2002, the mountains drew him back to Colorado.
He first spent a year as a clinical research assistant at the University of Colorado working on a colon cancer screening study. Following this, he attended medical school at the University of Colorado and received his Doctorate of Medicine in 2007. He then completed residency with the St. Anthony Family Medicine program in Westminster.
Afterwards, he spent several years working in a critical access hospital emergency room in rural Colorado and then as an urgent care physician in the Denver metro area. He was drawn to occupational medicine due to his interest in preventative medicine and his fascination with the musculoskeletal system.
Dr. Parsons is board certified in Family Medicine and believes that physical activity is key to wellness. He is committed to helping patients function to the highest of their potential, both in their work and recreational activities.
Outside of his own work, Dr. Parsons continues to be passionate about the mountains, and he and his wife love to spend much of their time hiking, climbing and camping. When not out adventuring, he also enjoys spending time with his wife and their two cats, birding, listening to music, and weight training.
